Fall Reading List 2017
So, I love to read. There's almost nothing I love more than curling up with a good book and a mug of hot tea. With that being said, one of the goals I set for myself this year was to read 50 books by my 22nd birthday, and I'm over halfway there. You'd be amazed how much free time you actually have when you graduate. This fall has honestly been a book lovers' dream. Two of my favorite authors came out with new books, and I also discovered a new series that I could not put down no matter how hard I tried. My reading list constantly grows and changes, but below is the list I've been working on since the middle of September, let me know what you all think!
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
I finally decided to read this because of how much it is mentioned in other books I've read. I was hoping that it would live up to the hype, but unfortunately, I was not a fan at all. I do not understand why this book is such a cult classic, because I honestly had to force myself to finish it. I'm very glad that I did decide to read it, but it will not earn a spot on my favorites list.

A Column of Fire by Ken Follett
Pillars of the Earth is one of my all time favorite books, I've read it multiple times, so just imagine my excitement when I learned that Ken Follett was releasing a third book in his Pillars series. I literally had a countdown for the days until it was released. I'm a huge fan of Follett in general, I love how readable his historical fiction is, and I feel like every time I read his novels I'm actually learning. A Column of Fire definitely did not disappoint on that front. I loved it as much as I loved the first two in this series.

The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye by David Lagercrantz
Once again, I loved the Girl With a Dragon Tattoo series, so I was really excited to see another book in this series with Eye for an Eye. I actually liked Eye for an Eye better than I did Girl in a Spider's Web, Lagercrantz's first book when he continued Stiegg Larson's original 3. I think I read Eye for an Eye in two or three days just because the plot moved so quickly, and it didn't feel like I was reading much at all.

Palace of Treason by Jason Matthews
Back in the summer I read Red Sparrow at the persistent urging of my mom, and it was really enjoyable. After doing a little bit of research, I learned that it was actually a trilogy, with the newest book coming out in February of 2018, so I immediately ordered Palace on Amazon. Once I got into this book a little bit, I really liked it. It's just as good as Red Sparrow, and got me really excited to see the movie adaptation with Jennifer Lawrence, and for the third book.

The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
Y'all. I have officially found a new series to love. My one regret is that the third book isn't published yet. I honestly hope that I don't have to wait too long for the third book because this series was that good. Both books ring in at close to or over 1,000 pages each, and I read each in a matter of days. I cannot say enough about these books, but they're honestly kind of difficult to explain if you haven't read them. I would definitely call them high fantasy, so if you're a fan of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Eragon, Lord of the Rings, etc. put these on your TBR list ASAP.

Origin by Dan Brown
It really was the fall for my favorite authors. I love Dan Brown, and have since middle school when my godfather told me if I finished Angels and Demons he would take me to see the movie. Dan Brown did not disappoint with Origin. Although it was not my favorite book in the Robert Langdon series, I still enjoyed it and it kept me guessing the plot for the entire novel.

Fall of Giants and Winter of the World by Ken Follett
I told you all that Ken Follett was one of my favorites! In all honesty, I've read both of these novels before, my freshman year of college, but this summer I tackled Winds of War and War and Remembrance by Herman Wouk, and after reading those, I wanted to reread Follett's Century Trilogy to compare. I loved both of these books the first time around, so I'm really excited to read them again, especially after reading Wouk's novels, because I feel like it gave me something to compare Follett to that I didn't have the first time around.
